Reuse and Recycle Wrapping

Recycle your wrapping this year to give a unique and different style to the presents..Here are some tips I found in a German magazine..

                                                        Use ornaments instead of a bow

                            Newspaper in a different language can become a different wrapping style..

Fortune walnuts ..Open walnuts and empty it from inside. Put an message, wish or fortune inside.Fix the two sides together with tape or glue. Place it on the dinner plate and ask your guests to open it :)

Christmas tree

Inspired by the beautiful and stunning Christmas tree in Rio ..



I made this Xmas tree..

• Cut 4 circles from a thick paper in sizes- 25cm, 20cm, 12cm, 8cm.
• Using this technique make cones from the circles.
• Decorate using sequins and golden glitter paint.
• Now arrange them one over the other with the bigger cone at the bottom and smallest at top.
• Glue them together. 

To make it look at if it is floating :

• Keep the tree on a translucent glass cube or any base with similar diameter as the tree.
• Keep this glass base in another dish and fill it with water enough to drown the glass cube
• Add glitter or stones in the water

Sand and Sunshine

Sand, Sunshine, Coconut trees, Watermelons ...I am far away from snowy Zurich and am in warm and sunny Goa. We will be celebrating this Christmas in Goa..

Flowers in a Bowl

Porcelien painting again..This time I painted a bowl with flowers.. Also I was able to make thinner outlines which gives it a more professional look!!



I painted it twice and so it has this glossy shiny look to it plus it so sunny today that I am unable to take a clearer picture of the design..





I also painted the bottom with striking blue and silver lining!

It is perfect for sauces, toppings, nuts etc. What do you think?!

A place to hang out in Zurich...

We went to Cafe Felix recently.It is one of the prettiest cafes I have seen..It is located very close to the lake. It is decked beautiful roses and huge chandeliers . The food, cakes and coffee is the yummiest in the town. 

It is always full and is difficult to find a place to sit..we were quite lucky to have found a table just near the beautiful balcony over looking the cozy cafe downstairs..

I ordered a Cassata cake - a traditional sweet from Sicily.

and my husband had a rich orange chocolate cake..



Love the way they presented the food in the platter .. took the pictures to inspire me someday to arrange and decorate the dessert this way..

Cactus Monday- Marzipan

I made this cactus from homemade marzipan...didn't come out as good as I thought it would..

actually didn't want to share it but a friend encouraged me to put it up:)

I have been very creative in last few days and have made some really cute stuff like a cake topper, patchwork and embroidery,ceramic paintings on plate and mugs..
I am adding some finishing touches and will share with next week..
